What is the best lens for Canon 450D new?
I am a first time DSLR users (untl I get Canon 450D), and I am really in a dilemma here, I have a budget to buy Canon 450D Twin Lens Kit, and probably adds Canon 50mm f/1.8 II lens. However, reading through Articles on DSLR, one of the complaints i read most are the ones that talk about bringing too many lenses to shoot or how dirty your sensor. So I tried to explore on this and feel that one solution is instead of buying a Canon 450D Twin Kit lens, I'll buy my body and just buy the Sigma 18 to 200 mm lens OS, so I can identify with these two standard sets of lenses in my travels and reduces the chances of getting dusty sensors. I really need your advice on what would be my starting lens for Canon 450D the Sigma 18 to 200 mm, or as 18 to 55 mm Canon IS and Canon 55 to 250 mm IS? and the Canon 50mm f/1.8 is worth the price? hoping for your advice. thanks
In the first series 450D, or Rebel XSI in some countries, the automatic and manual cleaning of the sensor, so I do not highly concentrated worry about your sensor. You did not mention what kind of photography you do, but I think that if general travel / people pictures, you settle into the 18-55 and stick to it for most things. Remember that the 450D conversion rate is 1.6, so your 18-55 is equivalent to approximately 29 to 88 mm on a 35mm camera. If you buy the twin lens kit, I can not imagine they need the add-on 50 mm lens, if you do just for the lens speed, and in this case, I think you'll find as time goes on, not to use too. 450D has a wide range of ISO settings, which will offset much of the Need for Speed. I have 450D/XSI and 18-55 and 55-250 lenses that you mentioned. Let me say that are touted as the 450D is a professional level camera, but I have experience in professional level photography with my work in magazines, advertisements, galleries and stock photo agencies. So why buy a less than pro-level camera? Because I bought the functions I needed. I'm not crazy ... Why pay twice the money for something I use? As far as the lenses go, surely there are better quality lenses. But if you do commercial work or full page spreads in magazines, L-series lenses are simply too much money for the difference that You have probably seen. If I were you, I'd forget about the 50mm lens 1.8 - at least for now - and concentrate on learning 18-55 and 55-250 lenses. If you are really governed by the image (you, not those) You will probably have almost everything, lens wise that you'll need. The only thing I really wanted to now is 100 mm macro. Hope this helps!
