Getting P0401 trouble code, where I look first?
I have a 2001 F150 XLT, 4.8L, V8, with 60K miles on the engine. This Type engion not DPFE sensor installed before someone says that is the problem. I replaced EGR valve yesturday and went a few kilometers the light came to control the engine. The problem code says that "the lack of air flow. Where exactly do I look first? What types, what should I watch out for?
One suggestion would be that the intake passages are a large number carbon build up. This would reduce EGR flow and set the "lack of air flow" code. Three possible corrections: 1 Use high quality fuel system cleaner for the next 3-4 tanks of fuel that can help clean up carbon deposits. 2nd Remove EGR valve and try to run a small wire brush to remove the intake of carbon. One draw back is that the carbon pieces to be beaten and may cause the valve to stick. 3rd Remove the intake and have hot drunk on the engine rebuilding shop.
