Learning to Meditate: Start of the Adventure
Learning to meditate is an adventure of self discovery, enlightenment and personal development. Of course, not everyone follows the path of insight meditation, a subscription to all the spiritualism behind the practice. Some people use meditation and relaxation just a grip on their strong emotions and everyday stress. Some people take classes as a time for quiet reflection. Whatever your reason to get started, you will notice a different feeling stirring in you.
The first step in learning to meditate is to understand the concept. The Western notion of meditation is "to focus his thoughts or to think about." However, the Eastern concept of spiritual meditation is "the all and everything," says author George Gurdjieff. Instead, meditation, the absence of thought, opinion and distraction - but rather the absorption a sense of serenity and love. Meditation classes may provide a concept called "sweeping the house." When learning to meditate, it sometimes helps to use simple gestures to you grounded. Place both hands behind your head, your hands resting on the base of your skull. Wipe your hands on the top of your head and imagine gathering all your thoughts. If you look at your forehead, shake your hands away from your face and imagine all those thoughts are sent into space. Repeat this process until thirty times until you feel your mind and allow your mind to migrate your "hara" point in your belly.
More and more Americans learn to meditate, now that the benefits of meditation scientifically investigated. There is much more to learn, but brain scans show researchers which is only 40 minutes of meditation a day, in fact, the composition of the brains to change.
