Test Automation: A formalized test process

Test Automation is basically using soft wares to control the execution of tests (test cases describe the tests to be run on the program to verify that the program runs as expected) and comparing the actual results, the predicted one. This help in measuring the deviation of actual output from that originally planned. It also involves deciding on the test preconditions, and reporting test and control.
